Have you ever wondered if we are all connected? I am very much in tune with the Law of Attraction and absolutely believe we are all part of Life and sharing the same planet for a reason. I also believe in the personal power we have to make a positive impact on others with our words and actions. How true is the quote by Jean Paul Sartre’ words are loaded pistols’ and how powerful these pistols can be when directed at others through our choice of communication.

This week I read an article where the whole message was to empower the readers to love themselves as they are despite their circumstances. Nothing new or wrong with that idea. However, what got me thinking was the final question in the presentation: Are you too blessed to be stressed?
I thought the question was a catchy and refreshing way to remind ourselves to cheer up when things are not going our way and might help to beat the January blues. All of us go through moments of genuine stress in our lives but most of the time it is our own thoughts and what’s going on in our own minds, what I call the uninvited chatterbox, that proves destructive. Our lives are more abundant, joyful and happy, or have the potential to be, than we give ourselves credit for.
Gratitude and Appreciation are two concepts I work with my clients and I encourage them to synchronize to on a regular basis. I believe they are the key to have a fulfilled life and a clear state of mind. At the beginning it may sound corny or too simplistic to put this into practice but you will soon see how by connecting to the things you appreciate and are grateful for in life your energy shifts to a positive state of mind and as a consequence of this you feel more loved, abundant, happy, ready to face the world.
I recommend to keep a Gratitude and Abundance journal. Many people struggle to keep a journal because they worry that they won’t have anything to say. Start by writing down a word or a sentence. It can be as simple as “I am grateful for …” If you stay with it, the sentence will eventually become a paragraph and then a page. Journaling can be a very healing exercise. Why not be grateful for the house you live in, your food, your pets, we are all familiar with the saying ‘you don’t know what you’ve got until its gone’ - be grateful for even the most mundane things:) don’t wait until they are gone from your life to acknowledge them. The trick is to re-connect with the beauty of simple and good things in our lives on a daily basis and a journal might help to do so .
Remember I am here to talk and work with you whenever you are ready. Make it soon.

One of my most rewarding experiences in 2007 was being asked to take part in the third series of RTE1/No Place Like Home and working with Motive TV to represent my native country, Chile.
Why was it so special? Well, imagine having all the things I value and that I am passionate about condensed in a 30 minutes Tv programme: my country, family, friends, respect for the environment… For me that was magic.
I am half Chilean and half Spanish with an Irish name -thanks to my gorgeous Irish husband that is…
It is great to have three countries to claim as home and to appreciate all the different advantages that each one has to offer. However, for me it is Ireland the country that has been the pillar for my self-development and my personal fulfilment.
I have always been fond of the Irish… seriously, this is so true. Since an early age, 4 years old to be precise, at School, I have the chance to have teachers who were native Scottish and Irish. I developed a love for these Isles and an obsession for the history, the music, the heritage, the lanscape and the red heads… but it was only at a later stage in my life that I will land in Ireland and settle here for good with my own red head
No place Like Home gave me the chance to embrace both countries that have made me who I am today: my native Chile and my adopted Ireland. The programme brought magic to my life at a time when I needed a lift as my father had recently passed away and somehow the programme helped the grieving process and brought the family together for a happy occasion. For all these reasons I am forever grateful.
You might not believe this but I am only allow to see the programme for the first time when it goes on air so it will be a surprise for me as well! I am so curious to see what was edited out of the many days of filming in Chile and in Ireland! It will be fun.
The programme is scheduled to be part of the new series of RTE1 /No Place Like Home -Sunday 10th February at 19:30pm.
Best wishes,
Maria
Hello and welcome to the first MJL blog of the year ! 2008 is only starting ,a new year full of possibilities and excitement as all our personal goals, good intentions and best behaviour are in the air.
January is a powerful time to make changes in our lives. However, the statistics are not so encouraging and show that 37% of people who make resolutions drop them after just two months.
So, how can you make new year resolutions work for you?
Firstly , I think that most people are put off by how serious and overwhelming it sounds to keep a good resolution or a goal in place for the FULL year ! What works for me is to have my goal in mind but focusing on achieving it one day at the time .This is what I call my NEW DAY RESOLUTIONS :)This way my goal seems manageable and every day I have the opportunity of a clean start.
Secondly, be kind to yourself in the process. If you happen to go back to old habits just be patient with yourself . Remember that guilt seeks punishment and punishment seeks pain …not a virtuous cycle ! A daily affirmation that has helped me through the years is ‘One step at a time is enough for me’. It gives me instant comfort and relief that I am on the right track at my own pace. Try it yourself and you might feel the benefits.
Thirdly,I believe the secret to achieve your goals is to really believe in what you want and set aside all inner doubts that block your possibilities to achieve it.We all have inner doubts, self -limiting beliefs and mental toxins that keep us away from our dreams ,delaying our chances to be happy, joyful and enjoying life .
One of the ways to set aside these inner doubts and release them is to ask yourself : How many people will benefit from you achieving your goal ? Maybe the answer is your inmediate family and friends or, perhaps your community or your country or even the world ! Thinking of the chain reaction that achieving your goal will have will make you focus even more in your goal and don’t let anything come in between.
While this sounds like an impossibly difficult task, it really isn’t. All that is required is that we begin our own personal Journey inward to our Higher Self–the best of who we are.
Remember I am here to talk and work with you whenever you are ready.
Best wishes,
Maria
