Last week was a busy week for MJL :) I can genuinely say I absolutely love my work , I am so grateful for the chance to transfer my knowledge and skills over a wide range of topics and challenges and for all the diverse and interesting people I get to meet. The highlights for me this past week included Corporate Training in Cork , Confidence and Assertiveness workshops for men and women in Emmaus and finishing the week with a Style Clinic for women in Dublin .

It was a pleasure to train  such a lively and intelligent group of young trainees in KPMG, Cork. The group reminded me of  the time when I started working with Unilever as a graduate …long time ago:) We had lots of content to cover but the time flew and the feedback was excellent.

My Confidence & Assertiveness workshops always leave me feeling really overwhelmed with the powerful and positive feedback. This is great encouragement for me as I always include new techniques and exercises that I know will be challenging but necessary when we want to make a positive impact in developing  assertiveness skills.  I love my groups and the work I do in Emmaus which is the perfect place to deliver these workshops.

The ‘cherry on the pie’ of my week was the Style Clinic workshop on Saturday. This is the most multicultural group of women I’ve trained so far . It was amazing to transfer Style tips and knowledge to an audience that included Escandinavian, Asian, European and if you put me on the mix South American women ! What a beautiful visual ethnic mix in the room , the atmosphere was electric and we had a great time. The feedback was again so powerful that reading the forms left me full of emotion and joy. The organiser send me this to summarise the day ‘everybody had a wonderful time, learned a lot and also loved you – it was great that they could receive advise on sensitive issues from you in a fun, warm and supportive way!’

Thanks to all the wonderful people I got a chance to meet last week for all their contribution, their questions, challenges, openness and for trusting I could somehow make a difference in their lives.

This Thursday 10th December am bringing to Emmaus Retreat Centre in Swords this lovely Confidence & Assertiveness workshop for Women. This is my last one of 2009 and I am really looking forward to run it again. The atmosphere in Emmaus at this time of the year is fabolous and ideal for this type of training and it makes it even more special as a day out for yourself. The feedback for this workshop has always been very powerful and I am delighted to know that previous participants have incorporated  the tips and techniques to improve their assertiveness skills on a regular basis.

The highlights of last week were 2 set of totally different trainings. I was in Galway at the start of the week delivering Essentials skills for management. It is one of my favorite subjects as we covered different topics from communication to time management skills . The training was an excellent opportunity to engage in interesting discussions with the participants . The hospitality was brilliant as it always is in Galway and the participants feedback was excellent.

On the other hand, I really loved my Confidence & Assertiveness for Men group in Emmaus . Very intimate setting and it was a pleasure to deal with participants that opened up and shared their issues with the group. For me as a trainer and workshop facilitator is great when participants are open to share their personal objectives and issues as that give me the chance to really transfer knowledge in the  most relevant possible way. We certainly enjoyed the day and had fun covering all the different subjects.  I loved ‘my boys’.

This week will see me in Cork and back in Emmaus for my Confidence & Assertiveness course with Women so I can’t wait !:)

xx,

Maria
